Just One of Those Things

September 9th, 2009 by keen bean

When offered both coffee and tea with room service at my favourite hotel last weekend I realized I had undergone a transformation that I was none too aware of having taken place. Though I started out as a huge tea supporter, my tastes have changed over the years. In fact, I must now be considered a true die hard coffee fan. As to when the adjustment began to take place, I know not.

Still, it is a blatant matter of fact that I ponder. It was only when seated at the table with both tasty treats that I began to give it much thought, Surely, the switch began its approach when I could no longer ignore the blissful aroma of a renowned gourmet coffee. From there it was all a smooth exchange, and I presume, just one of those things.

A Fairtrade Coffee that has it All

September 8th, 2009 by keen bean

There has been much discussion and debate over coffee beans, both their origin and flavour. As to flavour, different coffee drinkers have different preferences. However, there is no question that all of them fancy a cup that is tasty. Now, whether that means rich, mild or a variation of the two is for each to decide.

As for the origin of the beans, some proclaim that certain lands produce the most robust, some the most aromatic and the diversities continue on and on. Still, the concern over the ethical treatment of the farmers and their co-workers remains of interest also. Hence, when the matter is reviewed in its entirety the resulting overall coffee of choice is a delicious fairtrade coffee.

A Great Coffee Promotes a Great Cause

September 7th, 2009 by keen bean

For several reasons, Puro is an exemplary fair trade brand and as such Miko is humbled to be its coffee supplier. The company has gone to great lengths to create wonderful coffee, without doing so at the expense of the fantastic men and women who dedicate themselves to growing and harvesting the beans. This means that Puro purchases all of its coffee beans responsibly, with intent to support the farmers and their livelihood. In addition, it works actively with the World Land Trust to prohibit further destruction of tropical rainforests.

Thus, we are delighted to offer this fair trade coffee online. This is exceptionally true because we know that with each sale of a bag of Puro coffee, money is donated to continue the work being done to save the beloved rainforests. So, the more Puro you enjoy, the more support you provide to conservation.

September 6th, 2009 by keen bean

What’s new at our online coffee shop? We have introduced a counter at the bottom of the site that allows you to keep track of how much rainforest has been saved by the support of Puro. With the purchase of each bag of Puro coffee, a contribution is made towards the conservation of the South American rainforests.

We thought our clients would like to know what we have accomplished together in this project. So, visit the website of this fairtrade coffee supplier regularly to see what progress has taken place. Remember that the measurements are given in football pitches. And in case you’re wondering, the total as of today is two thousand one hundred and forty four.

September 5th, 2009 by keen bean

During this summer I have found myself relishing the free gifts that I’ve received from different venues. For example, the multiple items given with the purchase of my favourite magazines. Now, I must say that in certain instances, the free gift is not something I would have sought out otherwise. However, it is undeniable that I would’ve gotten the magazines with or without the extras.

As such, when deciding upon what specials to provide our customers with, I knew that the most practical, and most appreciated gratuitous item is more of what you wanted in the first place. Hence, the following offer of free coffee. Yep, that is right, a free coffee gift from us to you. Here’s the deal, when you purchase a certain number of bags of our coffee grounds, we will award you another bag free of charge.

Coffee is the Little Darling of Fairtrade

September 1st, 2009 by keen bean

At the heart of the fairtrade coffee history is the story of tremendous potential, growth, and success. Coffee and tea were the first of the fairtrade agricultural products. Soon after, they were joined by numerous others including fruits, sugar and spices. However, it did not take long before coffee had become the major growth generator backing fairtrade.

During the course of the last decade, fair trade sales have skyrocketed globally. Coffee remains a powerful piece of the finely tuned engine. When buying fairtrade coffee consumers are able to rest assured that the small coffee farmers, who painstakingly cultivate the coffee beans, had their products purchased under fair conditions. This is a win win situation for all involved, and it is definitely a system to be proud of indeed.
