A Good Conversation With A Stranger
December 30th, 2009 by keen bean
On a plane trip from London to Houston I was seated next to a lovely Southern lady born and raised in Texas. During our on and off again conversation I learned that she was not familiar with fair trade coffee. It became apparent after she made reference to an ad campaign that referred to Puro coffee.
She mentioned that she had the chance to enjoy a cup of Puro during her visit to a pub in Litton Cheney and had made a mental note that she was quite fond of it. Her intent was to begin to buy coffee online, and she hoped Puro would be available to her that way. Then upon reading the ad, she noted the information about it being a fair trade product. This spurred the beginning of a lengthy convo that was very informative for us both.
The Personal Taste Test Results
December 23rd, 2009 by keen bean
There are plenty of good reasons to go with fair trade coffee when you buy coffee online. Thank goodness one of the most compelling is that it tastes great. Sure it is commendable to do a good thing and to employ your conscience when making regular purchases, but to suffer through bad coffee seems incomprehensible.
So, after doing a few personal taste tests I was overjoyed to find that there are many tasty and aromatic fair trade roasts out there to be had by one and all. Personally, I like the knowledge that somewhere out in the big world there is someone, an entire family, and ultimately maybe a whole community that benefits from my choice, and commitment to purchase fair trade. Still, when it comes to coffee, if the fair trade stuff was not flavourful and rich, I would have to make a change.
Tis the Season to Believe in the Power of the Online Coffee Shop
December 16th, 2009 by keen bean
There have been many excuses given for not making the leap to buy coffee online. Plenty of die hard shop front fans are so accustomed to their habit of making a special trip to a store, or of picking up whatever is on special at the grocery that a change seems impractical. However, the special deals that can be found this time of year at the online coffee shops might just convert more than just a few of the old fashioned coffee customers.
Now that just about every kind of coffee, including fair trade coffee is available directly via internet the options are a plenty. It is most certainly a buyers market, and a well-informed coffee buyer can find deals galore. While tis the season for children to believe in Santa, it is also the season for adults to believe in the power of online coffee shops.
The Best Way to Buy Your Coffee
December 9th, 2009 by keen bean
There is no reason I can think of not to buy coffee online in this day and age. You have the opportunity to taste test new coffee constantly when you are out and about. Thus the sampling process can be conducted in your workplace, while visiting establishments, during meals at restaurants or cafes, in airports, and so on and so forth.
After determining specifics, such as whether to select fair trade coffee, grind your own beans, or to alternate amongst different types, you are all set to purchase directly online. You will increase your chances of obtaining fresh coffee, and probably cut the price down substantially. It can be an easy, inexpensive and fast process that can be replicated over and over. Times are a changing, and so is the best way to buy your coffee.
Holiday Gift Deals that Are Super Time Savers
December 2nd, 2009 by keen bean
Not knowing where to start my holiday shopping, I decided to buy my fair trade coffee and then go back to my search for others. While I was already going to buy coffee online, I decided to see if the company was offering any holiday gift deals, or bargains I could turn into gifts. What I found was one stop shopping for the majority of my presents for friends, family and co-workers.
Just about everyone enjoys either coffee or tea in one form or another. The site I went to not only had prepared gifts, but also listed many recipes to enhance the items they sold too. They gave easy instructions for Irish coffee, iced coffee and scrumptious coffee infused cupcakes. Turns my procrastination worked in my favour this time.
How Buying Coffee Online Has Changed My Life
November 25th, 2009 by keen bean
One of the recent advancements that have come about that enhances my life is the ability to buy coffee online. Due to this little change in my everyday life, I save enough time to focus on my passion for films. In the time I save by purchasing items, such as fair trade coffee online, I have more opportunities to watch movies I have been eagerly anticipating.
I have been able to view Inglorious Basterds, Coraline, 2012 and Surrogates all within the last week. Whereas, before I would have to have spent more time on mundane tasks. Right now, I am looking forward to watching This Is It, A Christmas Carol and all of the Twilight films. I guess you could say the opportunity to buy products online has enabled me to move closer to my ambition of becoming a movie connoisseur.
Ethics Based Consumerism Online
November 18th, 2009 by keen bean
It was with fair trade coffee that I made my entrance into the world of ethics-based consumerism. Candidly, it was not so much of a planned moved, as it was that I really liked the coffee. Though it was only a baby step, I concede, I had to start somewhere. Since making that move, I have taken a stronger interest in the products that I purchase. In fact, not a year goes by when I do not participate in the Fair trade Fortnight Campaign.
As such, I have become committed to the practice of only purchasing certain items if they are fair trade. This has been a staple in my world for the last 5 years, and I have no intention of ever doing otherwise. So, I am thrilled to find that I can buy coffee online and not stray from my well-advised preference. Now, I just have to work on building up my proclivity to stick to only fair trade labelled items in other categories also.
Coffee Fact Versus Fiction
November 15th, 2009 by keen bean
You may read that one coffee supplier says one thing about a coffee subject, and another says something entirely different. One example of this is the claim that espresso offers the drinker more caffeine than regular brewed coffee. This is nothing more than a myth, and as thus the truth should be established for those interested in it.
In reality, the Arabica beans that espresso comes from has a smaller amount of caffeine than Robusta beans. Plus, the brewing process for espresso last 30 seconds and as such there is less caffeine extracted than in the 5 minute drip coffee practice. However, it is true that the Arabica beans do have a richer taste than the less expensive Robusta bean. Now you know the truth, and can happily continue to buy fair trade coffee online with the knowledge to support your choice in product.
Why You Should Buy Coffee Online Before a Move
November 11th, 2009 by keen bean
I really regret not having thought to buy coffee online prior to our move into a new house. We just made the trek from one town to another with all of our belongings in tow. The move itself was majorly stressful, and unpacking seems to have even trumped that level. In retrospect, I could have undertaken one very simple preliminary act, and minimized the discomfort to some extent. I should have gone online and ordered our coffee before making the move.
If I had taken the brief moments to organize the delivery of our coffee to our new home, we would have avoided a couple of uncomfortable instances. Such as, my wife having to run out in the wintery cold at sunrise in a new town to locate fair trade coffee. In turn, we would have skipped the tension and grumpy attitudes that coincide with not having the warm energy-producing beverage. Ah the retrospectrascope is such a wonderfully useless instrument for me in this situation. Oh well, I will know for next time I suppose.
The Luxury of Buying Coffee Online
November 4th, 2009 by keen bean
By this point in time, surely just about everybody has heard of fair trade coffee. This is of course not per chance, those involved in the marketing and advertising for this product were persistent in getting the word out. The fact that there are exceptionally well made brands of fair trade coffee available made the daunting task much easier than it might have been otherwise.
So, when it came time to spred the word that you could buy coffee online, and that included fairtrade coffee, once again the promoters were able to enjoy the luxury of endorsing something that tastes wonderful. No matter how much work had to be done to make this opportunity a reality, it certainly is one that was much anticipated. I know I for one am extremely pleased to have received the good news and plan to make use of this advantageous option.
