A Resolution for the New Year That Makes Me Happy

December 15th, 2009 by keen bean

Since I have begun to purchase my coffee from an online fairtrade coffee supplier, I feel completely relieved. For years, I have been going out of my way to stop at a major chain in town on a pretty regular basis to buy coffee. These visits have not always been pleasant, but ironically they have consistently been pricey.

Once I started to rely upon an online coffee shop for my java, I have been able, and happy, to avoid the freestanding coffee shop chains. No more snotty barista barking my name out, or any awkwardness of being banished to the waiting area of impatient cell phone yappers. Mostly, I am thankful not to have to have spooky guys who hang out in those shops try to chat me up. In fact, it is my New Years resolution to avoid those places for the entire next year, and beyond.

The Online Coffee Shop Game Review

October 31st, 2009 by keen bean

I have received a bunch of inquiries about the article I wrote on the online coffee shop game. I was kind of surprised to see that there was so much interest. Not because the game was not well made, or fun for that matter. This was only because it did not seem to me to be the typical gamers choice. But, maybe that is exactly why the interest exists.

So, to reiterate my initial review, the graphics are cute, and the overall visual is appealing. The only thing that I had wished for to be different was the ability to make certain additional decisions regarding the shop itself. Such as, being able to become a fairtrade coffee supplier. To me, details can inject a great deal of character and personalize the experience. In sum, the game itself is a good source of fun.

Now, I am not putting any limitations on the recipes I select, just that they involve coffee. However, I have no idea of how I will ever limit my search for these additions to my cooking repertoire, because there are thousands available in no time flat. But do not take that as a complaint, because I am definitely up for the tasty challenge.
